My foot injury has healed pretty quickly. I am now off my crutches and walking with an ACE bandage wrapping it. I got some therapy sessions I need to attend still, but hopefully I will be able to play next weekend. Keep your fingers crossed!

Well I was lucky enough to have the chance to play 18 holes last weekend for free. I was looking forward to this all week and was planning out a course review since I had never been there before. Well come time to hop inmy car and leave I missed the last step into my garage and severely sprained my ankle. I had to go to the emergency room and they put me on crutches. Talk about frustrating!!!
I’m hoping this heals quickly so if I can’t make it out htis weekend I could at least get out the next. I can’t even practice since it hurts to move this thing. Ugh!
The weather finally held off this past Saturday, giving me the chance to get out and play my first nine holes of the golf season. Well, it was a rough start. In the words of Milli Vanilli, blame it on the rain. Or should I say blame it on te snow! It was quite wet and messy out since the sun hasn’t been shining much since the snow melted.
The first shot off the tee was perfect. It was straight down the line and somewhere around 250 yards. Unfortunately from this point forward my game went down the drain.
One good note to the first nine of the season was that I never three putted on the green. It was either one or two putts once I made it on the green. Now making it on the green was a totally different story that I’m not going to get into. Long story short, poor impact with the ball and bad alignment.
So I guess it’s back to the drawing board to try and have a better game this Saturday. Wish me improvement!
Well it was nice all week long and then Saturday morning I wake up to rain and cold. Ugh! Maybe next weekend!
I’ve still been sticking to my practice routine. I think its working. I won’t really be able to tell until the snow melts and I can hit the course. Well, at least the range! I’ve continued to use the Medicus Driver and I think I’m pretty impressed. I will be definitely be creating a video review of it on Saturday at the local driving range. I think it should be good for anyone debating on if it worth spending the money on.
Today will be a short post since it was my day to practice putting. It wasn’t as hard as I expected working back to ten feet. I decided to change it back to twenty feet which became extremely challenging. I was about an hour and ten minutes in before I needed to stop. It’s pretty exhausting and frustrating. I had to keep reminding myself of the end goal and purpose to this. Hopefully Thursday Iwill be succesful!
Today was the first day of my new training/practice routine. It seemed to work out well, although I bet I will be sore tomorrow! Getting up early in the A.M. is never a cup of tea for me. I was able to get in about forty five minutes of cardio and about third minutes of weight training. This gave me enough time to get home and get ready for work. After work I was able to come home and work through each club as I outlined in my last post. It was a bit harder to do then I imagined. I think this was caused by working out this morning and not being a regular at the gym.
I have also added a Medicus 460cc Dual Hinge Driver to my Monday, Wednesday, Friday practice. I was able to get a great deal on a new one off of Ebay. I ordered it on Friday and it was waiting for me when I got home today. I will do a full review of it later in the week. I will also take it out to the driving range Saturday and will try to accomplish a video review too!
Sooooo, I’m going to put myself on a basic but consistent routine. Here is the plan outlined.
Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I will workout at the gym for at least a hour and a half. Focusing on cardio and core strengthing exercises.
In the evening on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Friday’s I will practice my golf swing. I will hit 25 balls with each club, starting with my driver and working down the line to my lob wedge. I will then hit 25 balls with each club working back up from lob wedge to driver.
Tuesdays and Thursdays I will practice my putting. I will practice by starting 1 ft away from my putting cup and move back a foot with each putt made. If I miss I will then start over at one foot until I make it 10ft away.
On Saturdays, depending on the weather I will try to make it to the golf range to document distance with each club so I can track improvement.
If anyone has some good recommendations or changes please let me know. I know we have some very educated people out there around workout and practicing routines.
So it’s been quite a while since I gave an update on my progress since all these life events happened. During the summer I kept on golfing. I got out to the course on an average of once every other weekend. Everytime I played, I tried to play 18 holes to try and track a handicap. I got to the range at least once a week. I made some progress, but not as much as I would have liked. So since then I have picked up a practice net to save money and to give myself the ability to practice as much as possible. Following this post I will outline my planned practice/training routine that will get me back on track to pro status!
I apoligize to all the people who were following my blog before I dropped off the map. I got a new job that took all my focus. Shortly after I got married and bought a house. Yeah, I had a lot going on! Now I got things under control and I am back on track towards my goal of become a professional golfer. I look forward to all your input and support!
